Dispense with ugly plastic or wire bird-feeders and make some natural willow birdfeeders to enhance your garden and keep the birds happy during the winter months. You will make two different designs of willow bird feeder, one can be hung in a tree, as with the fat-ball bird feeder shown in the photograph here, or staked into the ground and filled with seeds. NB: This workshop is also available at Winchester Adult Education on Saturday 3 February - see "Also Teaching at ..." for more details.
£55 - includes all materials, use of tools, and refreshments
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, but please bear in mind that a certain amount of manual strength and dexterity is required when working with willow. The projects covered on my workshops have been selected for their relative simplicity and suitability for beginners. Throughout the workshop students may need to use specialist basketry tools (provided), many of which are either sharp or pointed, so a sensible approach to personal safety is essential!
Class size is limited to 6 participants so that I can provide maximum individual attention.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are provided – please bring a packed lunch.
A work apron is recommended.
