One-Day (Wednesday) Workshop: Dragonflies and Sunflowers

Sorry, registration has ended.

Enhance your garden pots and borders with willow dragonflies that gently sway in the breeze, and willow sunflowers to brighten a shady corner or place against a wall. The technique used for creating the sunflower is a stepping stone to creating the base of a traditional round basket. NB: This workshop is also available at Winchester Adult Education, Weeke, on Saturday 12 May - see “Also Teaching at …”.

This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, but please bear in mind that a certain amount of manual strength and dexterity is required when working with willow. The projects covered on my workshops have been selected for their relative simplicity and suitability for beginners. Throughout the workshop students may need to use specialist basketry tools (provided), many of which are either sharp or pointed, so a sensible approach to personal safety is essential!

Class size is limited to 6 participants so that I can provide maximum individual attention.

Refreshments are provided – please bring a packed lunch.

A work apron is recommended.
