PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO GOVERNMENT COVID GUIDANCE, THIS WORKSHOP'S DATE HAS MOVED TO SUNDAY 9TH MAY (previously Sunday 28th March) AND WILL NOW BE HELD OUTDOORS. This 2-hour taster workshop provides a hands-on introduction to working with willow, as a precursor to my new "Beginners' Basketmaking" course of four one-day sessions starting later in May. However, anyone wanting to sample willow-weaving is welcome to join in, whether or not you intend to enrol on the Beginners' Basketmaking course. During the session you will make two or three small items to take home eg woven trees, mini stars, small flower. This workshop is repeated on Sunday 9th May.
£25 - includes all materials, use of tools and refreshments
This taster workshop is intended for absolute beginners.
Please bear in mind that a certain amount of manual strength and dexterity is required when working with willow. Throughout the session students may need to use specialist basketry tools (provided), many of which are either sharp or pointed, so a sensible approach to personal safety is essential!
Class size is now limited to 6 participants so that I can provide maximum individual attention, as well as following Covid guidelines.
Refreshments are provided.
A work apron is recommended. Suitable clothing for working outdoors, including rainwear.
