Catalan platters, also known as tension trays, are one of the simplest yet most effective items to make from willow - ideal for the absolute beginner but equally fun for those with some experience. They can be used for serving bread or cheese, displaying fruit, or (my favoured option) mince pies! On this workshop you will be able to make at least two platters, allowing you to experiment with size and colour of willow.

This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, but please bear in mind that a certain amount of manual strength and dexterity is required when working with willow.  The projects covered on my workshops have been selected for their relative simplicity and suitability for beginners.  Throughout the workshop students may need to use specialist basketry tools (provided), many of which are either sharp or pointed, so a sensible approach to personal safety is essential!

Class size is limited to 6 participants so that I can provide maximum individual attention.

Refreshments are provided.

A work apron is recommended.
