The sixth of my Willow Weaving Wednesdays - one afternoon per month September to April. Come and enjoy the pleasure of weaving with natural willow - nothing as complex or time-consuming as a 'proper' basket, but fun little projects that can be completed in a 3-hour session. Each session is stand-alone and can be booked individually @ £45, or you can book the whole series for £295 and benefit from a £65 discount (see COURSES).
Willow Weaving Wednesday: KITCHEN HERB POT
1:30 - 4:30pm - The Coffee Room, Ropley
I call this a Kitchen Herb Pot as it is just the right size to hold one of the living herbs you can buy at the supermarket. What better way to display your basil or parsley on your windowsill - much better than the bare plastic pot! You will learn one of the most commonly used basketmaking weaves to create this little vessel: a good way to see how you get on before embarking on a full day basketmaking workshop.
The price of this workshop includes all materials, use of tools and refreshments
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, but please bear in mind that a certain amount of manual strength and dexterity is required when working with willow. All projects covered on my workshops have been selected for their relative simplicity and suitability for beginners. Throughout the workshop participants may need to use specialist basketry tools (provided), many of which are either sharp or pointed, so a sensible approach to personal safety is essential!
A work apron is recommended.
Maximum class size is 8 at this venue.
