Encourage birds into your garden and keep them fed throughout the winter months with a willow bird feeder filled with fat balls that you can hang from a tree or hook in your garden. Much more rustic than a plastic/metal equivalent! You will make more than one during the day so you may go home with gifts for friends as well as yourself!
Using a simple jig, you will create a spiral weave around willow stakes, weave a border and add a simple handle - a relatively easy project which will allow you to make at least two bird feeders in th day, possibly three.
The price of this workshop includes all materials, use of tools and refreshments
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, but please bear in mind that a certain amount of manual strength and dexterity is required when working with willow. All projects covered on my workshops have been selected for their relative simplicity and suitability for beginners. Throughout the workshop participants may need to use specialist basketry tools (provided), many of which are either sharp or pointed, so a sensible approach to personal safety is essential!
A work apron is recommended.
Maximum class size is 10 at this venue.
Refreshments are provided - please bring a packed lunch – there is no shop in the village.
