This two-day workshop is suitable for complete beginners, but if you have had some previous experience of working with willow you may progress a little quicker and feel more confident. The price includes ample willow during each session, along with use of appropriate basketry tools and equipment. Refreshments are provided throughout the day, but please bring a packed lunch.

Although this basket may look similar to other baskets I teach in one day, this one incorporates techniques which require more time to achieve: different weaves, a more substantial top border, a wrapped bow handle and it is likely to be a bit bigger too.  All in all, a lovely traditional willow basket!

The price of this workshop includes all materials, use of tools and refreshments

This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, but please bear in mind that a certain amount of manual strength and dexterity is required when working with willow.  All projects covered on my workshops have been selected for their relative simplicity and suitability for beginners though some previous experience of weaving with willow may be helpful for this workshop.  Throughout the workshop participants may need to use specialist basketry tools (provided), many of which are either sharp or pointed, so a sensible approach to personal safety is essential!

A work apron is recommended.

Maximum class size is 10 at this venue.

Refreshments are provided - please bring a packed lunch – or you can buy drinks and food at the village shop next door.
