Sorry - this workshop is now full . . . . Make a round, shallow-sided basket suitable for serving bread rolls or displaying fruit. Made primarily out of stripped willow (bark removed), this is an ideal starter project for those who have not made a basket before as the material is particularly easy to work with. The basket is finished with a quick and simple border and, with no necessity for a handle, means it can easily be completed in the day.
£75 - includes all materials, use of tools and refreshments
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, but please bear in mind that a certain amount of manual strength and dexterity is required when working with willow. All projects covered on my workshops have been selected for their relative simplicity and suitability for beginners. Throughout the workshop students may need to use specialist basketry tools (provided), many of which are either sharp or pointed, so a sensible approach to personal safety is essential!
Class size is now limited to 5 participants so that I can provide maximum individual attention, as well as following Covid guidelines.
Refreshments are provided - please bring a packed lunch - or make use of the village shop next for where food and drinks can be purchased.
A work apron is recommended.
